Description of Art Exhibit
The Islamic Culture & Art Exhibit showcases works of fine art by: Uzma Muzaffar, Saleemi, Tehmina Cheema, Samir Abdullah Hulseberg, and Farzana Jahangir. Works consist of Arabic calligraphy and Islamic folk art. Mediums include oil on canvas, acrylic on canvas, pottery, and digitally enhanced artwork. Works of art for sale.
Visitors in the art gallery will see display posters explaining the Muslim Faith. While there is a Quran written in the Arabic language, visitors can see books that describe culture in Muslim countries in addition to a beautiful book illustrating fine works of art of the where the 99 names of God are depicted artisticly.
Visitors can also see works of art by students at the Mercy School, an Islamic school in Oklahoma City. One of these works, “Peaces” of the World, incorporates elements of diversity, unity, and harmony in colorful 3-dimensions.
The exhibit will remain open until Friday October 9th, 2009.
